How to plant wild flowers.

Boss wants to plant a strip of wild flowers, don’t know what sort yet but just wondered what is the best way to prepare the ground.
It’s on grass and he just wants to plough 5 furrows, I assume level it with a rake and scatter the seed. I’ve done small patches in my garden by digging the ground over and raking but nothing has ever grown.
Is ploughing the best way or would it be better to just scratch the surface and scatter the seeds?

Wild flowers don’t like to be sown too deep bare soil and just scar the surface and lightly cover then roll.
You could plough and P Harrow and then roll it plenty to make a good seed bed but not a loose one if you get me.

Keep some seed in one of your pockets and drop a couple of pinches on ever mole hill and rabbit scraping would be the most natural way. But I suspect subsequent "management" would have a lot to do with success or failure.

I love doing this, done quite a few areas spray it off . Plough it cultivate it to the finest possible seedbed you can get.If you going broadcast it put the seeds in a bucket mix it with some silver sand so you can see where it goes just rake it in very lightly. We’ve always planted in the spring I will get some pictures .done quite a lot for village. Also put a small area in for my daughters wedding they sat in the middle of them looked brilliant.
