Howard rotovator input shaft

Evening all,
Got a HR 40 rotovator with a sheared input shaft. I can get a new one from new Holland but it's strong money to say the least and kramp have a long lead time. Does anyone know of a breaker of such machines or anyone carrying new old stock from when either Howard or dowdeswell disbanded? It's a 3.05 m machine with a 200 hour selectatilth gearbox.

Fast parts do a complete shaft that you connect to your slip clutch plate.

Aah sorry, more specifically it's the input shaft inside the gearbox.

Give Standen Engineering a call. They are the legacy manufacturer of the Dowdeswell versions of the Howard Rotavator and they are very good for parts backup for older machines.

Tried standen engineering and drew a blank as they never did the HR40 machines. Its a selectatilth gearbox which was very common, anyone any ideas who else might hold a stock of parts?

If the shaft is sheared you probably need to check the slip clutch is working OK.
On Dowdeswell bedtillers we always used to loose the clutches right off and give them a spin pre season.

They do to a point, local dealer thought they had one in Germany but turns out they would have to get it from kramp which is a 4 to 6 week lead time

I've given him the measurements off the sheared one which he's checking against his when he strips it off

@Will 1594 your man came up with the goods in the end, I think he had to go through 3 machines before he found one with a useable shaft though!
