Hydraulic post knocker on telehandler

Wondering about buying a hydraulic rock breaker for doing some fencing. Got a jcb 536 loadall? mainly just for doing small jobs round the farm. Far cheaper than buying a normal post knocker with a hammer weight. Good or bad idea?

I use a hydraulic breaker on a 1t mini digger, just pushes them in effortlessly but tricky to keep them straight.

Just the posts, I wouldn't try a strainer.

220kg post knocker on telehandler here. On a good day in right conditions I can belt telegraph poles in!

I wouldn't! Vibrations going back through the boom and forces applied to boom in a way there not designed for.

mount the breaker to a frame so you can add weight to it, something like 500kgs at least, this will reduce the stress on machine as you wont need to push the posts down so hard and just let the weight of the breaker and its mounting frame/weight etc drive it in rather than lifting the front wheels off the ground!

The next weakness will be breaking the main boom pivot pin bosses out of the boom at the back if you try steering to straight up a post as you drive it in etc (side thrust on the boom)

You buy or make a cup to fit on the breaker. They work very well on a digger. But as I said earlier I would fit one on a handler.

i assume you stab it in the ground so it holds its self? once the cup on the breaker is on it you move the digger around so it goes in straight. thats not going to be so easy on a handler IMO
