Ever driven a soft-start 9"? More gentle for Grommit and prevents the high inrush current.

My VAP one was a soft start and was nice to use apart from been a little noisy (but grinding isn’t exactly a quiet past time anyway).
The Metabo isn’t soft start but is a lot quieter on the motor and gears, don’t see many soft start grinders in the budget range.

you need a woolly jumper, not polyester.

Anything with no "man made fibre" in it. Good luck finding a fleece fitting that bill though! I do recommend the Parweld welders jacket sold by @Welding Supplies Direct for such things, heavy leather and excellent value. Pair it with a cheap set of zip up leather riding chaps and you can quickly render yourself fire and spark resistant.

Well I musnt be able to drive either because I've always fancied one on my forklift. ?

I have copped for years without them and don’t plug them in 98% off the time but they do have there use that 2%.
At a total cost 68 for the carriage and hydraulic pipes it won’t brake the bank
