Brierley drill grinder here lads, as of right now its practically for nothing, 4 days to go and no doubt it ill make more money but you never really know with eBay, this could be the deal of the week...

Bear in mind when they sold this, it was somewhere round 5-7k new, i know the one i have here is slightly newer but same idea and was over 8k new.

I picked up a Sykes Pickavant Bearing Seperator/Puller kit for not a lot of money.
The only problem was the ram had been well and truly abused during it's life but I stripped it down and reckon I can get away with new seals and grease and it will function as new.
I am thinking of getting the damaged section turned down and then knurled.
What do you guys think.

It's a die grinder. Awesome when you need to get rid of metal in an awkward spot. I can not really axplain very well what's the point of it but it's just awesome.

I have looked at the die-grinder a number of times - need to get that 10th Milwaukee tool bought somehow? Narrowly missed buying one about a month ago. Instead I bought the small grinding stones (which I presume are for a die-grinder?) and used them in a cordless drill.

I was trying to enlarge a hole for a gate catch but the grinding stones lasted no time at all - and actually broke apart before I got finished. Ended up using a file.

What dies should I be using?

These use 6mm shank carbide burrs. You can use the burrs in a regular drill but they need 20,000 rpm to work properly instead of the 3000 or so a drill does.
This would be the perfect tool for you.
i have some of them, bloody good to get into tight spots,
an electric drill is not fast enough, it chips the burrs,
and be very careful of the sharps off it

When you say "stripped it down", did you have it all out on the bench, is it the cap that screws off on the top?.
Iirc a few years ago I went to pull the one I have apart but it wasn't a willing victim if I remember so I thought I'd ask a man that got one apart.

Unless of course you did that damage trying to get it apart... ?

No I never did the damage

It is the nose cap that unscrews, under which is a spring then the ram, large nylon seal , grease packing and then small nylon seal

Let me know if you want a photo of it stripped out
