If UK leaves the EU and Scotland leaves the UK I'm relocating 'Bomber Towers' to Scotland

apparently I don't have to move the entire building, I just need to set up another satellite office, similar to the one that have I in west London, employ a handful of staff to man reception and the phone and so long as we hold all our statutory board meetings at this office (AGM etc) we can continue to operate out of Soho as normal. That's according to my Company Sec

of course what we pay in corporation tax will go to Scottish coffers and not English coffers but I can live with that :)

which city would the Honourable members for Scotland suggest as a possible location for a new head office? it's got to be Edinburgh, right? Glasgow is a bit bleak by all accounts. Edinburgh I sort of know, over the years I've attended several events at the International Conference Centre. I also have a client that has an office in Leith by the waterfront. Apparently Leith is also supposed to be a bit rough but I thought it was quite pleasant, had a touch of Canary Wharf about it but without the skyscrapers and high-end shopping mall

What with rising sea levels and all, I reckon the whole of London should be moved up there.

Dundee.

Council are building offices, that apparently no one wants, next to new V&A museum for sharp suited types like yourself. So you can fly up in your corporate Lancaster and hire some bikes to get yourself the half mile from airport to tax haven hq.

the bit that I highlighted is a concern... why are there empty offices if the place is up and coming?

thank you all for the suggestions. Someone in the office also said Glasgow has a lot going for it and is no longer the bleak wasteland that it once was twenty years ago

I like the Perth suggestion as I visited the racecourse years ago when I spent a week in Scotland. Beautiful town (city?) and a lovely racecourse. Lovely people too :)

Inverness is also an interesting one, I bet any amount it's also beautiful up there and the scenery would take my breath away

but alas, if everything did go pear-shaped and we left the EU and as a result the Union broke up with Scotland remaining, it would have to be either Glasgow or Edinburgh as the mission critical requirements would be a super fast internet fibre connection and a direct flight from London City airport. As far as I know London City airport only serves Glasgow and Edinburgh so as much as I love the idea of having a head office in a beauty spot like Inverness or Perth, I would have a boardroom mutiny on my hands if I forced all the other directors to have to make connecting journeys of more than 30 minutes after touching down in Scotland

Has to be Glasgow.(y) Edinburgh is for tourists and Americans rediscovering their roots and made-up tartans.
In fairness, although I nominated Glasgow earlier, Edinburgh has transformed over the last quarter century and has cast off the stuffy Morningside Matrons out for afternoon tea image of the past.

It's now a modern, vibrant capital which still retains its handsome grandeur. It's now a more fun place for nightlife - have had some great days /nights out with @M-J-G in the smarter parts of the city centre (y):singing::joyful: , and is buzzing during Highland Show week and the Festival.

Yes, it can still be touristy, but it's underpinned by a more cosmopolitan feel these days.

Really, I'd be happy with either city.
