Will be interesting if this turns out to be true, or if it turns out to be made up rubbish to foment anti-asian sentiment. My money is on the latter. Anyone take £10?

ETA: was trying to figure out why Batley rang a bell... It was Jo Cox's constituency. You know that MP murdered by a far-right extremist. According to Wikipedia (yeh, I know, sorry), in the by election that followed, nine far-right parties fielded candidates. I didn't even know there were 9 far-right parties.

A couple of online newspaper sites are certainly reporting a police raid at at the former Yorkshire Bank in Batley today and there's video footage with lots in white forensic suits and stab vests- one site suggests it is investigating reports of an armed raid at the bank.

All sounds highly plausible to me, though I’m not a betting man: sorry.

I drove through Bradford this evening on Keighley Rd through Frizinghall/Heaton about 5.45pm. Loads of Police vans and blue lights around a restaurant/ mini mart. I suspect after reading this OP, it’s all related.

Take a walk through some of those areas and you’ll soon appreciate why the right is rising in certain areas.

Also, some media would class anyone other than labour and the greens as “far right”.

Wikipedia is hated most by those whom it shows up, and is also abused by the same who attempt to discredit its integrity through entering incorrect or misleading content. It's disappointing to see others conforming to the wish of charlatans in echoing their hatred for one of the rare beacons of principle on the web.

Would you describe the SNP as “far right”?

There were 10 candidates for the by election in total. So, anyone who isn’t Labour is “far right”?

1 Labour.
3 independents.
The One Love party (the founder described himself as the “Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir”)
5 others. I’d argue at least one of them should not be described as far right.

Is the issue the slaughtering or the catering?

I don’t know UK regs but here there would be nothing wrong with me slaughtering pigs and cows and chickens (as long as I wasn’t doing it cruelly) However if I did the slaughtering and wasn’t licensed then it would be illegal for me to use it for catering.

There’s times of years my yard could be considered a slaughterhouse.

Unlicensed slaughter can only be for home consumption of animals owner and good immediate household. It's illegal for the meat to be even given away.

By law some parts of each species cannot be consumed, specified risk material (SRM). This must be indelibly stained and correctly disposed of.
