Hi, yes. I better come clean before others get involved. I was having a wee tease with a touch of irony. But thank you for the polite explanation. I had donned the metaphorical tin hat awaiting the first had grenade. Cheers.

in actual fact, what Clive said is incorrect, unless all the companies I tried continuing to deal with had it wrong. Anyway, by and large is was too agrivating for them and ourselves so we just gave up . From my own point of view, it was pure laziness as it’s easier for me to order stuff speaking English 🤷‍♂️

If stuff is made in the EU or the UK there is no import duties going either way, obviously lots of stuff that is traded isn't actually made in either area so there is then duties.

Is the stuff made in the UK or is it non UK or contain a high percentage of non UK components?

nearly everything I buy is steel, so looking forward there won’t be much from the uk 🤦‍♀️, but I am talking about 2/3 years ago.
Anyway, it’s off this topic and generally I don’t go in that brexit thing as it’s tedious as 💩.
As long as it makes you happy👍, and I found different solutions 👍

I've not looked in the destroying thread for two months as it is as you say pointless.

but to be in topic - I have had extra duty bills for a British made whistle, a British made tracker and mostly sun soiler metal for a British subsoiler, which I didn’t get before 2021. Also. A great handler guy on here won’t send stuff across the channel now due to the extra paper work.
I have my metal delivered to my brothers and bring it back in my car when I am over for a rally (which helps to justymy trips with my wife 👍), for the moment I can reclaim the bay as I still have a uk farming company, but that probably doesn’t have long legs🤔

and even more off topic…
I never knew metal could wear away so fast before I came here, hence why it is such an issue 🤦‍♀️

The Chinese use every trick in the book, bought some corrected sports sunglasses cost me £300
came through customs as childs sunglasses value £12
As it’s the importer that’s liable for the duty there’s nothing stopping you from letting HMRC know that the value is incorrect and offering to pay the duty.
