Been looking for a hillside combine for a while, seen a few combines in france that look
good value for money from main dealers. If I could get the dealer to deliver it to Roscoff ferry terminal.
I could drive it home from Plymouth . I take that I would not have pay french vat on the machine as it is
being exported.what other problems would I have?

if you are vat registered you would supply your vat No to the dealer and it would or at least should be supplied vat free as an export.

you will have to register it for UK registration when you get it here , to do that you need the original EU reg documents , and the invoice and your VAT no , ou initially do that on line on on web site called NOVA once its registered there recording its vat status you fill out the V55 doc application

Shipper will probably want it strapped to a standard container flat so they can handle it.

I brought a combi baler wrapper in from Holland last year, I booked it roll on roll off unattended, the dealer delivered it to Rotterdam and I collected it from Killingholme the next morning,it cost less than £300,I was quoted £1600 door to door on a low loader, well worth talking to freightlink as they can book you a freight ferry anywhere in the world,if you could get it to this side of the water then arrange transport here.

Yes but check shippers like plant to be already secured to there standard flats as its easier to secure there standard flat on a vessel.
A lot of plant and farm machinery comes in to east coast ports from Europe roll on roll off,you just have to provide dimensions when booking and mark the lashing points

No idea if its any use, but a firm near Taunton called Quantock Farm Machinery has a farm in France and the owner runs a artic low loader and imports/ exports machinery every week . Maybe worth giving them a ring as he may be able to either give advice or actually do the job for you. Number is 01984618648 and the boss is Graham Burden

Ring Richard Long transport.he brings every claas combine to the uk.

He can’t be doing too bad running 50 plus vehicles and moving a massive amount of machinery in and out of the uk

Getting up Royal Parade without hitting a bus. Also getting through Millbay with the prostitutes offering to "service your machine big boy?" might be interesting.
