Importing tractor from EU costs

Hi,

Has anybody imported any machinery from the EU into the UK post-Brexit and have any idea on realistic costs outside of transport?

Looking at a machine but getting concerned there is a total unknown in what they might charge.

TIA

I was looking to bring a machine back from Poland recently and the negative sounds from Hauliers and Shipping Agents meant it was a no go. If you were bringing back a Self Propelled machine they would bring it to a European Port but the price to bring it over on a trailer was prohibitive and not many takers.
Looking for a quote to bring a machine back from Dijon on Monday so if any one else can share a load please PM Me.

As long as it’s country of origin is within the EU then the import declaration is your only cost. ( £100 approx)
You will need a EORI number which is straight forward if you are VAT registered. You will either have to pay the Vat at point of import or account for it on your next return. Use someone like richard long to do the transport and he will sort the import paperwork for you. Not sure if he can do the export declaration for the seller You may need to get the vender to Do that. Our last load came through no problems. If it’s high value you will be best to get goods in transit insurance for it.

Sorry for hijacking thread. Does anyone know how things are for getting parts from the eu at the moment? Looking at a machine that if spares are needed may have to come direct from manufacturer in Europe. Less concerned over cost, more about how quickly we could get them if required.
