3 star on Defaqta rating. Always check policy rating on draqto.com to see what they say about different policies and providers

I had this conversation with our NFU Insurance rep yesterday.

He was adamant that they do not do fleet insurance for farmers. Apparently about 74% of UK farmers insure their tractors and equipment with the NFU, and none have fleet insurance!

I know that NFU are generally sound and trustworthy (I know (there are always exceptions and horror stories), so what are the benefits of fleet insurance and why do 74% of farmers avoid it?

i was at NFU for 14 years and NFU dont tend to offer fleet insurance policies for Farmers, apart from on sizeable accounts… They have a car policy and truck policy and tractor policy, they have always separated out…. However, in the Broking world all motor is coded under one policy for ease…. i wouldn’t take advise from an NFU agent on broker products as agents live in their own little bubble…. Which I learnt when I left about 8 years ago…. As I say feel free to call me on 01473 784500 and happy to give you a brief overview…. Nothing formal…. Thanks Mark

No problem, but I recommend you consider all options and at least consider alternative products as you could be spending an additional 20-30% in premium, but depends on how well your agent looks after you, which I’m sure is very well! Best of luck! 👍
I did , i contacted one that was recomended on here
After 50 questions it got to the point that i had to name all drivers and dates of birth , blood starting to boil but soldiering on , at the end its said you will have to phone in, we dont do commercial insurance online , that was morethan enough for me to abort the idea of saving a few pennies , i phoned the lacal NFU office next moring , five minutes job done
