Most of those claims are quite correct but one or two are very dodgy. The one about common rail, for instance, is far from being true. What the Pantherised engines from the 1980's through to the last of the true Same engines have is not 'common rail' but Bosch unit injectors working off the camshaft. In groups on the Pantherised engines and individually on the 1000 series later engines. These are just in-line piston mechanical injector pumps working directly off lobes on the main camshaft. The electronic part only applies to the governor that moves a rack the length of the camshaft to adjust the amount the pistons are moved by the cams. It is just a very lengthened design similar to the in-line pumps used on some Ford engines, only better.
Wouldn't mind seeing more of the sameDont know about the Same but the video that came up afterwards was top notch
I dont understand these companies that buy out other companies and then stop promotein the brand. Take sdf thers same, deutz, lambo and hurlimann but in lots of countries they just push deutz and dont have full line ups of same and hurlimann. What was the point in buyin them companys? Around here years ago ther was a sizeable same market and very few deutz so why not keep same on the market with a full lineup? Same with cnh buyin steyr and then stoppin sellin themMost of those claims are quite correct but one or two are very dodgy. The one about common rail, for instance, is far from being true. There is no doubt whatsoever that they pioneered many features we take for granted today. More than most and nearly as many as MF. No doubt either that they made excellent tractors that stood out from the crowd for value, technical specification and performance. It is a great pity that they have declined so far due to management policy to push 'upmarket' with the Deutz brand using bought-in ZF transmissions also used by so many other brands and models. They used to have superb back-up during the last century but seem to have gone to pot since and their recent volume sales reflect this.

Exactly what Agco did with Valtra and then realised it was better than they thought!bye out the competition, use there good design in there own brand

Yes i know it was them bought out deutz. They also bought out hurlimann and lambo and basicly diminshed the brands. What was the point in that. As for fait they bought steyr and stopped pushin them but what was the benefit to buyin them as they were buildin tractors that featured a sisu engine and zf tranny so they werent buyin them for some unique designActually it was Same that bought Deutz, not the other way around. They then pushed the brand they felt was stronger internationally. Exactly like Fiat did with Fiatagri/Ford/NH.
I think the steyr looks much better than the nh and case.I think they dropped them because Case and NH are historically stronger in the UK and they did not want to bother with a third Brand in the same market.
In Germany Steyer still gets sold often as the second Brand of a Case Dealer while NH has its own Dealers.
In southern germany steyer often is the first brand.
In Austria steyer is still the number one or two by sales.
Hürlimann still gets sold in Switzerland and other historically strong markets.
You can still get lambos here but hürlimann and Same also got dropped in germany, but not entirely as same gets sold in the smaller segments <100hp as an alternative to the 5 series deutz.
And fasterWe had lambo 660dt, could have had a same, which was exactly the same. Perhaps if we'd gone for an orange one, the paint may have lasted a little longer.
The one positive about the lambo was the engine, it was an excellent starter and was very punchy for 60hp.

no doubt supplied by Rogers at Riverlea?I had 3 Same tractors they were all good reliable tractors. The Centauro 70 was a bit gutless but was good on the front end loader and hedge cutter. It was also a phenomenal cold starter pull the excess fuel button out and off she’d go instantly no matter how cold.
