JD 732 sprayer holding pressure

I am having a problem where the boom holds pressure when its turned off, it runs at approx 1 bar. This is enough to open the anti drips, meaning it doesn't shut off properly on the headlands and will also open up during filling. I have changed the seals in the on/off boom section solenoids and checked the main on/off valve that seems ok. Anyone any other ideas?

I don't know JD sprayers. Is there a boom purge system with non return valves? The seals may have gone in these. How are the nozzles shut off? Air to each nozzle body or section?

The orings in the valves will be leaking causing the drips. But the problem is with the system not loosing all pressure when spray is off with pto running the pressure gauge will read 1bar plus. This can be caused by a number of things depending on the spec level of the machine. How well does the induction bowl work as the main regulator maybe set to high? Have seen the pipe that acts as the boom return line go flat at the rear of the tank restricting the flow back to tank or the teejet valve that acts as the master valve may not be working correctly.

I have replaced the o rings in the solenoids on the booms. I have also changed all the anti drip diaphrams. The tee jet valve seems to work ok, I took it apart and all seemed ok. The induction seems to work ok. I renewed the seals in the regulator a few years ago. If i turn the screw will this alter the system pressure? I will check the hose at the rear just in case.

The little black regulator under the steps near the pump can be set to high causing all pump flow to try and go round the booms. If you set the induction bowl running and turn the brass knob out until the bowl starts to refill. Then turn it back up a little bit this will reduce the boom flow. The spec is 8-9bar relief pressure. If you do liquid fert the spring can corrode in the housing effectively jamming it. I see you are in Dorset I have a test in blandford Monday if you need any further help.

Thanks, I turned the regulator down and it was definitely better, I have ordered up a new diaphragm for the pressure regulator, as I expect it has gone soft as it's not been changed for many years.
Hopefully be ok now, but wont really know until the better weather and start using it again.
