2nd hand gator for 3grand.
Diesel, light, easy to Drive reliable with easily sourced parts.
Granted dear parts.
My gators 5 year old with over 5000 hours on the clock.
Costs around a thousand a year to service and maintain including Labour.
Saves a thousand a year on fuel compared to a quad.
Depreciation is killer at over a 1000 a year. (but won't be if you buy 2nd hand)
I have a quad as well but take gator every time apart from lambing time or chasing cattle

I wonder what it'll go for...?
In an age of global warming and carbon footprints I think more farmers will look to reduce fuel bills and become environmentally friendly with horse/pony power!
And of you don't like the thought of riding, there's always the pony quad, aka the "saddlechariot".
Ahhh, but where are the Govt emission reports on these infernal. modern fangled devices??
SssssslllllllooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwWhat about a grey fergie. Link box on the back
A bit like this?

I used an old ford with a box for while when i couldnt afford a decent quad it took me half a day to feed ewes in troughs. 2 hours with a bike and trailer. Less than an hour with a snacker now wouldnt go back if i could help it. Tractor is definetly a lot more reliable that old ford is 40 years old and will do another 40 if i look after it. Do 20 even if i dontIf your on a road a lot, yes... in the fields - not so much really.
Pain in the arse getting off and on, compared to a bike or UTV, and hopeless for catching things unless your dog is brilliant!
Old Fergie will be more reliable and last a lot longer as these UTVs too

and more versatile...

Sadly there's no market for a diesel quad. English farmers are a tiny market and all the yanks only want petrol toys to play with!!I've been thinking of 1, I could buy 2 hondas for the price of 1 Gator - bought a 14plate Isuzu pickup instead for less money than a gator!
Your neither wet or dry in a gator. Everyone I know who has 1 has still retained at least 1 quad because you can't catch or outrun sheep with a gator... a diesel quad that pulls like a petrol will have to come out soon! Doing 17,000km a year on petrol is rather expensive :/
