Situation Vacant Job Opportunities at Vale Engineering - Machinery Manufacturer in Yorkshire - Machine Assemblers and Parts/Aftersales Manager roles available

A couple of exciting opportunities have arisen at Vale Engineering York Limited due to continued growth. We are based in Rufforth on the outskirts of York. We are a leading manufacturer of machinery such as gritters, snowploughs, sprayers and top dressers supplied to councils/golf courses and contractors who operate in this sector across the UK.

We are currently seeking candidates for two positions-:

Parts/Stores and Aftersales Manager

This position will join our management team. This is one of the most demanding and busy roles within the company

You will be

· Buying and sourcing parts
· Creating kits for the machine assembly department
· Unloading deliveries and booking into stock
· Dispatching consignments and dealing directly with customers and suppliers
· Depending on the candidate we may also look to incorporate a greater aftersales role

About you

· You will work well under pressure and can juggle multiple jobs at any one time
· Well organised and efficient.
· Go the extra yard to get parts out a maintain our excellent next day parts delivery service
· Willing to get stuck in get your hands dirty load/unload wagons and pack/unpack consignments
· Negotiate prices with suppliers and customers
· Take complete ownership of the role
· You will have had previous experience and can demonstrate your ability to transfer you skills to this role
· Maintain a tidy work area
· Be willing to guided by and taught by your fellow team members to the processes we prefer to work to
· Ideally have an forklift truck licence


Workshop Engineer / Technician

We are currently seeking a workshop engineer/technician to join our team in the “new machine assembly department.” You will be one of the team members who are responsible for assembling the new machines. You will be used to using hand/air and power tools, and must have previous experience of this kind of work.

About you

· You will work efficiently and take pride in the work you complete
· Maintain a tidy work area
· Be willing to guided by and taught by your fellow team members to the processes we prefer to work to
· Ideally have an forklift truck licence - not essential for the right candidate
· Have previous experience of this kind of work with transferable skills

· We are a small family run business with around 15 full time employees we have been operating for over 20 years.
· Good rates of pay with a pension scheme in place
· Typically we work Monday to Friday 40 hours per week with a break in the morning and one in the afternoon and 1/2hour for lunch
· Opportunity for overtime in busy periods if wanted
· Holidays are 21 per year + bank Holidays. An extra days holiday is given for every 2 years of service up to a maximum of 28 days + bank holidays.

Webinar: Expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive offer 2024 -26th Sept

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.
