John deere 6310 transmission problem

Dealer came out, put gauge on the tractor, and light when out. Tractor then all back to normal and wouldn't throw up the fault again. Pressure was all good so they think a valve was stuck but don't know where?

Maybe a one off fault.

Dose the light go out if you rev it up? Is the steering and hydraulics working ok?
Really need to be putting a gauge on the transmission pressure test port at this point and rule out electrical faults.
Could be a valve stuck or even a blocked suction screen in the back end. Sometimes the brake linings de-laminate and block the screen. Gauge is definitely the next step.
We had a problem with our 6310 with brake lining coming off and plugging screen due to not using john deere hydro fluid.now we are experiencing same problem does anyone know where the screen is located and could it be as simple as hydro filter and change fluid?

The suction screen is under the left hand rear axle, there’s a 22mm plastic bung that you need to remove to access it. Be warned it will empty all the oil when it’s removed.
if the screen is blocked chances are it needs deeper investigation unless the debris is from a previous failure.

Thanks Phil is it possible that the hydro filters need changed? I havnt had any issues after the new brakes were put on and the fluid changed I got in it to do some brush hogging and it wouldn't move but I do have bucket and 3 point movement very frustrating

If your hydraulics are working I doubt the screen is blocked as both hydraulic and transmission pumps are fed from the same filter screen.
Are there any lights flashing on the dash?
Electronic or mechanical direction control?

No lights flashing now.for a short period of time a warning light would flash 4 or 5 times at start up then would stop. But hasn't done that the last several times I've used the tractor. Mechanical direction control

When you start it up and it dose a lamp check do ALL the lights on the dash come on for a second then go out or is there some not working?
when you shift through the splitter (1234) can you hear it shifting?

I will have to check the dash lights but as far as the splitter yes I can hear it shifting

Does the FNR lever feel right?? The aluminium arm at the steering column can wear to excess,,,, but not suddenly..
I've seen the FNR spool jam, or the cross shaft through the transmission seize..

I had the brakes done on mine, just binding a bit, discs etc looked fine, however, had same issues, pressures all ok, changed oil and filters 3 times, surprising how much fine stuff still getting flushed out, been fine since.

I had problems with the cross shaft before but seems to be working fine.i will get under it and see if that is the issue.did I read that the pump runs both the trans and implements? So if 3point and bucket works then not the pump?

There are 2 pumps, one high pressure for the hydraulics, steering, trailer brakes and one low pressure for the transmission functions, MFWD and PTO. They both draw their oil through the same suction screen filter but have their own replaceable filters. The hydraulic one on the rear axle, transmission in the front of the Powrquad..
