John Deere 6600 intermittent electrical problem, fuse blowing and switching off.

Morning, I use a John Deere 6600 mainly on a mounted sprayer. To start with very occasionally 30 amp fuse f101, I think is starter / ignition would blow.

I am not sure where to start looking for a problem.

The other day I think I put 5 fuses in over the day, used it a few more days with no problems, and then an odd fuse blew yesterday.

Thankfully up to now always low speed, as its just like switching tractor off. I am trying to think of the sequence that seems to make it blow. It seems to be that final bit of fine positioning, in my case just getting in right position to attach water fill pipe to sprayer, so clutch in a bit, and maybe just feathering brakes.

Could it be something electrical in clutch, or brakes / brake lights?

I was wondering if anyone had had a similar problem?

Many thanks

I doubt it’s anything on the transmission as that has its own fuse which should blow first (provided it has the right size fuse in!). From experience I’d start by checking the wires around the injector pump, there’s also a cold start advance that runs up to the thermostat housing then to the bottom of the pump. Also check the wires around the starter relay which will either be bolted to the end of the starter or the side of the engine depending on the year.
Chances are it will just be a small rub on a cable so you need to inspect them carefully.

Thank you, will do that.
