Due to a key playing member of staff having to take time off for an operation and recovery, I am in the need of a member of staff. I currently do a large portion of the milking, but am looking for someone to fill that role so I can move out onto the yard in my head guys absence. The correct person has the opportunity to progress into a leading role in the dairy heard. As we are a mixed farm operation with plenty of demand on my time else where in the business.
The dairy enterprise is very much in its early stages having only been producing milksince March. The heard currently has 90 cows in milk and is out grazing and currently a all year round calving with a spring and autumn bias, as the heard was bought in calf. Milking numbers should peak around 130.
As it is a mix farming enterprise, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in other aspects to ad variety to the tasks if interested. But the dairy heard is where I would really like the applicants main interest to be.
