I was only wondering at the weekend, whether or not it'd go ahead - and how they'd manage it, if it did.

I presume the individual markets will sell the rams farm to farm, or hold sales, themselves...

Just confirming more that I did the right thing keeping some select tup lambs entire. I'm not needing to buy anything in this year.

Much like there is a new sale planned at Hereford to replace the loss of Builth.

The question is whether Builth & Kelso ever get going again, if those sales work out.

probably ran their course now. must be a huge cost to stage these events, especially when there are so many well equipped auction marts that can accommodate them, without the need for tup taxi's etc. Plus the number selling direct are growing all the while.

Change it is a coming i think.

And after you done that there's the 2 hour wait for a tup taxi.

Why?

In all the years I've been and bought at Kelso I've always taken my jeep in and loaded up at the end of the tents - where the vendors load and unload.

You are allowed to do that - there's always someone will help give you a lift into the pickup or a kepp into your trailer. The tup taxi is a joke

Not been for 2 years but for years before you could only drive on.late in day for, I believe, health & safety reasons. Most people followed the rules at least until sale finished as far as I could see as always long wait for taxi.
Doesn't matter to me now as would never go back there for a tup after 40 years of attending.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
