Permanent pasture maintained in good heart - lime, plus muck and/or adequate fertiliser - has two major benefits.

1. It carries more stock which do better this year.

2. It results in significantly earlier grass growth next year.

Just look at it two ways,
Nitram is Robbing the Bank . P & K is putting money back in

It’s only robbing the bank if you take a crop off and sell it to some merchant or other.;)
Grazing doesn’t remove much P&K, which is why many farms that have always used 20:10:10 now have wastefully high indices.

If he had sheep on it for many years and not tested it how do you know its not low, it may be terminal low
If you put Nitrogen on without P& K the grass will remove more potash, in the end P and K will fall
