Kuhn FB 3100

I’m looking for the opinion of anyone owning or operating a Kuhn FB3100 as I’m looking to possibly change from Claas. Mchale is out of the question as they still haven’t developed an easy system to load net. I’ve driven several different Mchale balers and apart from loading the net I can’t really fault them. So how easy is net loading on the Kuhn, is the netter reliable in use etc. Also do they ever block in the pick up reel, how good is the combined feed auger/rotor, does it just have a drop floor or does it flex when lumps go through like the Claas. I’m also puzzled as to why they only offer a 540rpm gearbox.

I run a 355rc and the rollers are a bit soft but the latest Claas baler seem to have a lot more metal in them , other than a couple of rollers going the rest of my baler seems very reliable and will bale anything put in front of it , have you found otherwise if you're moving away from Claas ?

I’ve had next to no trouble with Claas balers. I work alongside a guy running a Mchale and it’s impossible to produce bales from a Claas that match in diameter as the Claas bales have a softer centre and expand more on ejecting the bale, people buying straw bales off the same field don’t like the differing diameters

Is this kuhn the same as the older vicon? If so this is a deutz baler which iirc kuhn is now buildin, intake on it will whip a mchale, itl literally eat any sward that ur tractor can drive over

Have you tried adjusting the bolt that triggers the net? Drops the diameter of the bale by about six inches
