Land requirements for cows plus followers

Morning all,

I've been looking at land requirements and there's plenty of information on requirements for spring grazed cattle.
I was wondering however, what the total land requirements would be for a more AYR-type higher production system with all forages produced by yourself, for example:

100 cows average MBW of 650kg yielding approx. 10,000 litres on a TMR diet
30 1+ year old heifers
30 less than 1 year old heifers

Is anyone set-up like this? Or got the figures needed to work this out? Perhaps a figure for what could be done if everything was perfectly efficient and what could be done with reasonable efficiency would be a good place to start.

Thanks!

we run 180 milking cattle av 10500 on robots on 180 acres but have a surplus of forage in a normal year, last year we had to purchase heavily. we purchase all concentrate and straw. we have managed on 160 acres until a couple of years ago but have had to buy extra forage from time to time.

I thats it

what part of the country are you in? if you are in a big arable area, swop crop for sh!t, works well, you could keep 2 hols, or 3 j / jx to the acre!
