Last resort rotation changes if can't get any N?

Thinking I'll plant my 60 acres of barley anyway (seed here) but if I can't get any N I'll graze half early with the suckler coos then put spring beans in, cut and bale whatever is on second 30 acres in May and at least have some winter feed. Maize anyone?

Time for next August off.

Home saved seed. Grow without fert. Harvest 2 ton/ acre. Look forward to £250 for the grain, and £500/ ton for the straw.
Half the ground rented out for spuds anyway. Someone else's problem.

What price has it been there anyway?
Urea has been over $800/ tonne here all winter growing season. Next year MAP ( starter fert)looks like being over $1000/t .
Undersow everything with clover......glad I've always sown it. Renders urea pointless most years.
