I still have some lambs on some kale, and they're doing well, only thing is there's still plenty left
and I must put back to grass this autumn as part of an agreement, what's the absolute latest I can get away with? were southeast and the field is very well sheltered, your thoughts much appreciated

Depends what grass you intend to put back...

If the field faces the right way, isn't too high up and you don't get any nasty frosts, you could getaway with mid October ok.

Will depend a little on what type of grass you are going to plant.
If it is a mixed grass long term ley then I wouldn't push it much beyond the end of September. If it is mostly Italian and short term then you will get away until late October.

probably a ryegrass with some clover permanent, but open to suggestions for a decent pp seed.

It’s the frosts that knacker us ,slows and stops the growth.
