Legume fallow and no till

Is anyone else concerned about the fact if you have a 2023 agreement with num3 legume fallow in that you then cannot claim the SOH1 no till in a 2024 agreement?

Spoke to them at cereals about this and didn't seem aware of the issue - seems odd as its ok with AHL1 / AHL2 etc as far as I can tell, just not with NUM3 so why the difference ? as long as its rotational I cant see the problem

NUM3 is no longer rotational in 2024 and No till payments are for 2024..simples

Not at all concerned! Just wondering if i should buy a 6 or 8 furrow plough? Havent used one for 15yrs but cometh the hour...and all that

NUM3 is no longer rotational in 2024 and No till payments are for 2024..simples

you can have multiple agreements running at the same time so have a 24 agreement on top of an existing agreement

in my case I will apply for DD and VRA options plus the farm pond options in a 24 agreement to sit alongside my existing 23 agreement

different start dates will be a PITA but wont matter really in my case

The problem is I’m going to use my num3 23 as rotational and 20% of my area will be num3, over 3 years 60% of my land will not be eligible for the no till. I’ve got a habit of choosing the worst options in stewardship and now SFI

I know the feeling! It is a lottery what to gamble on..if at all....at least you can escape in less than 3yrs when it all changes again

you can claim notill payment on land in legume fallow in mid tier
defra will need to look at the anomolies

it looks like when setting notill they have excluded non rotational actions
