Lely Optimo 240 parts.

Hello, just wondering if somebody has dismantled a Lely Optimo 240 gearbox and has parts to sell. I'm looking for the bottom gear with the square middle that drives the shaft along the bed.

Second hand, try Meredith George, Penwernddu ,Boncath Pembs, he breaks masses of machines for parts. New, that part is not listed with Kramp, maybe try these people https://www.camagcheshire.co.uk/lely-mower-parts-81aa3nproducts25curpage-3-25-c.asp
A good source of Lely parts, or now try a Massey dealer... have you got the correct part number for the drive? Put that into Google. Parts book can be viewed on Lely website...

Thank you for your response. I have tried Meredith George and camagrishire. Both haven't got the part and you can't get the part from agco or Lely stockist anymore, discontinued. There are more parts available in the USA than in the UK, but they can't get hold of this gear either. That's why I've turned to this forum to see if somebody knows somebody who knows somebody...

Allways love a challenge... one contact I have can get hold of one for you.... but its pricey..... as there's only 3 left in total in the world. Yes discontinued! So the older Optimo series will soon be scrap.... I've pm'd you

Best thing to do with the red/yellow lely is break them for spares and sell the parts off. They're worth far more.
As you've found parts are obsolete so someone will pay good money

I've got some bits but that gear is the reason the gearbox went bang in the first place. If you replace it make sure the bearings are the right spec, they run pretty quick and standard ones will fail straight away, feckin the gear again. Been there done that☹️

I've got an Optimo 240c which needs breaking, got fed up with it having problems with the hexagonal shaft. In the end it kept wearing the edges off the shaft where it goes into the gearbox, so I guess it may mean the gears and bearing you need are no good. The rest of it was in good condition, if it's of interest to anybody I'm happy to take some photos in the morning.
