Looks good, what seed rate did you use?
Light land 675/m2
Heavy 750/m2
Red marl 850/m2
I should of just gone straight in with the mzuri but moved the top couple of inches trying to get a fine seed bed and to level one field that was a bit uneven. This lost the moisture on the marl.

It is struggling drilled 4th April.
Hopefully some warm nights should bring it on, it has really found it difficult to get away from Flax beetle with such uneven germination.
Was topdowned in the autumn then drilled with a Vad Rapid.

Well with a small amount of rain on it the linseed has moved on a bit. Were just starting to see a few flower and it will be a sea of blue in a couple of days.

shame it's not all as good and you can see how dry it has been from the bare patch under the oak tree and how brown the leaves are on the elder bush.

I've planted 10th may and cut last week of August.
So should be ok.
I’ve always fancied trying linseed, but heard so many horror stories of harvesting it we never have, now rape is not so attractive we need to look at alternative breaks.
Is it better now than it used to be, do the pigeons hammer it and is spring linseed better than winter linseed?

Well, I'm in sunny Kent so harvest is early.
I'm DD too, which helps immensely with moisture retention.
I cut two years ago, no bother at all, dessicated.
Last year I wanted to try undessicated with reglone and glyphosate looking like being withdrawn.
I managed, but it was a bit of a pain.
Also ended up with quite a lot of unthrashed bolles in the tank.
Yielded ok though.
I chopped the straw last year, I'll never burn again, no bother at all, drilled with KV tine drill as it got too wet for the gd, absolutely fine. All the time and hassle of burning is no longer required. Plus no extra wheelings.
No idea on winter linseed, and I've only grown it two years now into 3rd.

What do you put the improved ease of chopping down to, I have avoided linseed in the past because all our fields are roadside and would never get wind right way to burn.

We used to avoid chopping it simply because it would wrap like a sod around anything it could. Tended to leave it down a while and big bale it, then use on game strips etc. Keeper would then burn the bales when he was done with them.

Even with reglone etc the straw was often green as green anyway.

If you could find a livestock farmer who would pay for it to be baled I'd let them take it away for free.
