May be a daft question ,excuse ignorance .
Why is front trailer not as big as rear, think you said its 40 t total .
Is it down to legal towing weight.
I thought your road trains were able to haul more ? 100 ton ish
???
Do they empty from floor not tip ??

I believe the length of the first trailer and second is the same, but being a b double, the first trailer has a 5th wheel on the back for the second trailer. The body therefore on the first trailer has to be shorter to accommodate the hitch?

380 HP if they badge them the same as here.

First lorry I drove legally was a 380 SK Merc like that hauling fertilizer on a flat trailer, V6 far as I recall, had the first of the semi auto boxes which was far from perfect, had to reset it from time to time, with a ballpoint pen....

Just like the round cab Iveco Turbo Stars.
Go to the drier parts of southern Europe and there are loads of them still at work, beaten up and a bit shabby, but still useable.
Up here in the wet North they all just rusted away. The one I started with had an Eaton gear box as well, the feared twin splitter!

I learnt and passed my test on a manual Mercedes from the mid to late eighties, and apart from a spell with a GMC truck in Canada that had a horrible 2 stroke Detroit engine, the other trucks that I drove were J Reg 190-36 Turbo Star, and an R Reg 440-42 Euro Tech, both with the Eaton gearbox, so I've not really got much other brand experience to compare with, But like you, I liked mine and got on well with it.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
