Loader hydraulic problems

I’m having a problem with the valve chest on my loader tractor it’s a load sensing wavoil dlm142/2 on a new holland Tm. Loader works perfectly in normal use the problem is if you drive on the road for a half hour or so not using the loader then go to use it the valve sticks and you can’t use the loader switch off the tractor and move the joystick around works it free and you can use it again. I’ve changed the cables and ends thinking they were sticking made no difference. Complained to the crowd I bought the block off the swapped my block for a new one made no difference. I just posting here to see if anyone’s ever ran into this problem before. All reply’s much appreciated.

Does the loader just not work at all? TM will be CCLS so is the LS line plumbed correctly? Try stabbing the brakes or pull a spool lever immediately before trying the joystick as that will upstroke the pump? Where is the LS line plumbed into the tractor? Is it just teed in or is it on a shuttle valve type affair?

When i fitted the loader first i had to fit a shuttle valve to get the loader to work properly. Yeah the load sensing is plumed in corectly loader works as it supposed to its just the valve sticks if its not being used for a while.

As in the joystick goes solid, spools not moving or just no response from the joystick?

Joystick goes solid or it might stick lifting the loader and not go back to neutral youd have to stop the tractor and work the jotstick free.

Is the valve block returning from the correct port? IIRC CCLS tractors need to return through T for tank connection but open centre would be part of the circuit and would use the carry over port.

Something is locking up pressure in the valve block whatever it is

Had that before , hot oil tightens valve block when not used , leave it when you shut off and cooled a bit used to work ok it was on quickie. ,
Try lifting loader up down on Road a bit and see if it works
I suppose i could put a tap on the flow and load sense line but then id have to get out every time im on the road i was hoping there was somthing else i could do.

I had a 7840 sle with a loader fitted and open centre valve block piped up from a spool valve but if you left the valve clicked in so still supplying the loader valve as you went down the road it locked the valve up but we put this down to more flow than the valve block could cope with

Our old quicke does that too when on long road runs. Also I was bale wrapping with the tractor a few weeks ago and joystick kept going stiff then a few minutes later it would work perfectly fine again. Very odd but just have to put up with it. No hydraulic radiator and 100l/min open centre hydraulics probably not helping ours.

There are so many answers to that reply I could type

our old one did that on hot summer days, joystick would be very stiff on first moveent after a long road stint but never had it go completly solid

It is the heat difference in the loader valve block .
- on a quicke loader, you can buy a small internal restrictor with bigger holes which you screw into the valve block to cure this problem - it allows the oil to warm the spool valve equally and stops it locking up.
Maybe your loader has this option too?
