Loader Mounted Straw Spreader

Hello All,

Does anyone use a loader mounted straw spreader? I currently have a teagle dual chop 7150 I use with Heston bales spreading over ducks, I'm thinking of finding something similar but loader mounted (as I have no other need for a tractor) but im struggling to find anything with a chopping option. is there anything out there? the eagle telehawk looks good but does not chop. does anyone use that machine or have any suggestions?

Short chop is limited options at the best of times, only other two makes that I know of are Kidd and Enegis but still tractor mounted.

I’m pretty sure I’ve heard the telehawk is slow compared to a tractor driven one, iirc, limited ability to transmit power through oil compared to PTO

We have a telehawk. It's good for what it is. Doesn't like clumpy bales, but will spread dry stuff a fair way. It's pretty numb so you need to know what your doing in tight areas. We have it on a merlo 42.7 and it knows about it. Got a small yard tractor now so thinking about maybe changing it next year for a tractor mounted. Be kinder on the machine and spread further in windy conditions.

What sort of volume are you talking about per house? Could you chop it nearby and have a spread a bale with bigger sides on it?

He wants a simple system @Sid whilst your suggestion may be possible I doubt it will meet the needs @Glass half full
Think you will struggle to find a machine to handle and chop a Heston bale on the front of a telescopic. You will certainly need a fairly lumpy machine and it will give the headstock hell.
If I was you @Glass half full I would carry on with a tractor mounted machine. Its always useful to have a tractor around the yard ;)

Neighbour gets a haybuster machine in to mill a load of straw before distributing it with a dispenser.

Depends if @Glass half full has capacity to store such a fluffy material.

Like you said it's 8ft away from head stock then you have the working part. It's the distance not the weight is the issue

Thank you for your feedback, I use unto 5 hastens a day spreading upto 40ft. I have a tele hawk coming on demo but im not hearing great things! will hold judgment till I've seen it. I have a 4t loader so should cope with weight.
