London "Climate" Protests

Its all futile anyway, the planet is undergoing increasing Volcanic activity every year which is clearly building to something big. And as one scientist remarked a while back, one huge Volcanic eruption blasts more carbon into the atmosphere than the entire history of the polluting automobile!

Has anyone ever considered that its Oxygen that's the problem and not Carbon? Well Oxygen rusts everything including us whereas Carbon promotes astounding plant life growth in the densest parts of the rainforest under the populace tree canopies where theres less Oxygen. So replace Oxygen with more Carbon and the planet would soon look fantastic and all those climate change people could rest happy in their graves along with everyone else:p...…….Just a thought

Apparently this increase in volcanic activity could still be due to climate change.

This climate change is all bollox imo , the weather here is similar in the last 100 years , for sure the air's cleaner since they stopped burning coal on a massive scale .

David Attenborough makes tv programmes .... for the left wing f**ked up bbc . who cares .

There would be less high cloud if they stopped flying loads of airplanes all over the world.

Still .. herbivores farting is more important than millions if not billions of gallons of Kerosene being burnt.

It's women's fault. After the school run they just drive around with nothing to do. Don't believe?, count the sex of mid morning and early afternoon drivers.

I would be interested to know which scientist said that. It is generally accepted (and I say that advisedly) by those who are knowledgeable about such things that the annual amont of CO2 emitted by volcanoes is many times less than that emitted through the burning of fossil fuels. Google it for yourself to see confirmation.

The protestors need to get themselves off to Bejing pronto -

China allowed 11 provinces and regions to resume building coal power plants, in another sign that the world’s largest energy user is far from finished with the most-polluting fossil fuel.

I've no doubt that the authorities there will treat them as kindly as the UK cops have, but then again, perhaps not

Inside are hundreds of minority Muslim Uighurs who have no way of leaving without an official escort, even though Chinese officials who took a group of foreign journalists around the “transformation through education” camp this week insisted they were there voluntarily. Asked what would happen if a Uighur refused to attend, Shu Le’s principal Mamat Ali became quiet.

Hardly surprising as it has the biggest population, and most of the developed world has now subcontracted it's polluting industries to them.

Quite so, and the shift has really been quite incredible, and what is even more incredible is that it has largely gone unquestioned. All the blood sweat and tears expended over the previous century in trying to defeat totalitarianism is as nought now that communism, in China at least, has embraced the concept of wealth. However, it has still not embraced human values such as privacy and respect for the rights of the individual, let alone such petty considerations as democracy, equality, and ethics. Indeed, there is a shameful number of people in the west who happily abandon such noble ideals if it is to their financial advantage.

I get the uncomfortable feeling that one day we will all wake up and find the Chinese government actually controls every aspect of our lives, from government policies to what toothpaste we can buy. All done passively and without us being aware of it happening, until it's too late. Just look currently at the Italy’s right-wing populist government being seduced into China's global Belt and Road development project, who knows what the consequences to Europe of this maybe.

Absolutely! And absolutely again!!

I keep pointing to the fact that China has a hold of one sort or another of 80% of the worlds lithium resources and here we are being told that we must all have battery powered cars which, strangely enough, just happen to need lithium. So who or what exactly is behind this great push? VW, we know, are going hell for leather for electric cars and China just happens to be their biggest market. The dots are large and glaringly obvious, it's about time we started joining them up.

What’s weather got to do with climate?

Always the agenda.

100 years of manipulated temperature figures .. but the "Problem" is not resolved by action such as making those who pollute the most reduce their pollution.

Instead the poorest in the West are made to pay. Whilst the richest avoid tax and continue to pollute even more.

It's just another get rich quick scheme for those at the top of the tree .. just another excuse to take money off the poor and give it in Mega Yachts, Super Cars and Massive Mansions to the rich.

I'm always amused about a supposed 0.5 degree increase in temperature .. when for months we've had far higher movements, probably in the order of 7+ degrees, both +ve & -ve just because clouds are currently not over the UK.

Perhaps I should create a "Cloud Change" policy so I can get rich as well.

But don't worry .. CO2 has been far higher than todays 400ppm .. for 100s millions of years it was above 1000 ppm and at it's highest 8000ppm.

Personally I worry more about another iceage as each successive Ice age has got worse .. 1km of Ice on top the UK with the sea dropping 200 metres and most life dying out is far worse IMHO. Oh BTW that was only 50,000 - 200,000 years ago.

You do realise that we are UK citizens are in the decile, possibly even higher, of wealth for this ecosystem we share?

But why do you keep pointing it out. Lithium is only valuable until a cheaper alternative comes along.

But do you really think that reducing the world to be being dependent on a communist regime with global ambitions is in anyway sensible or just about price? Why is it you lads can't see beyond your own narrow agenda and take in a much wider picture?

We keep hearing about alternatives, there is always going to be one along next week, but funnily enough they never actually appear. Why not? Maybe it's because we have already reached the limits of what is possible or, and more conspiratorially, the Chinese keep buying them out and shutting them down to preserve their investment in Lithium.

Now do tell us about how glad you are that children are being exploited to mine cobalt so the greens can feel smug about themselves.
