Both are painfully slow to establish! Why did you choose those two species? Timothy is a heavy land grass and Lucerne is a dry land plant.

That’s what the seed company advised Lucerne with Timothy as a companion also got small amount of cocksfoot in it.

Fair enough. I have a field with companion grass and one without. I prefer the straight Lucerne personally.

They’ve been in the ground for 3 years now and going strong. It’ll take atleast a year to get into full production. Don’t expect anything brilliant for the first cut or two next year, well worth the weight though!

All square bales in 120x90s with half the knives in and 8 layers of wrap. You will get holes in the wrap but it doesn’t spoil as bad as a grass bale, might be the lack of sugars in it. Cattle go mad for it!

Looks a little dry/capped - shouild be resolved now after rain - should have 6 weeks of growing weather of sorts in south. Timothy grows down to 0C, lucerne to 8C, soil tempertures 14C in the south at 10cm. Fingers crossed.
