Thats not good. You need to be keeping the skin moist with loads of emoilent cream as a prevention not only as a cure. Also you can get proper made to measure garments which are easier to wear.
Pics were just after a shower which made it worse. Am using Dermol 500 paraffin based cream frequently plus some Minuka BP honey.
 
Straight to hospital with that, had a few times usually ends up a raging fever and I get carted off without my knowledge.
I don't drive combine or that sort of job now so I can avoid prolonged hours sitting.
Had the fever last weekend, rang own Dr on Friday, he rang back on Monday, I told him that i had spent all Sunday in hospital, he never apologised or anything, just said thats OK your sorted
