Is that because you’ve installed a management system this year? That’s a big improvement! Do you ever get blood on the end of this straw if you serve her a day after first notification? I always thought anything other than clear at the end of the straw I’d be seeing her in 3 weeks
A large proportion yes although no doubt the diet would be different but the biggest change was the heat detection. I always thought blood on the end of the straw was an indication that I’d scratched the cervix, don’t think there’s any link between it and service time although I stand to be corrected.

We have cow manager but not quite sure we are making the most of them or maybe just getting the timing right. Would be interested in knowing what "protocol " or timing routine people follow if they have just once a day AI visits and cow manager?
If she's on, stick it in.

People associate blood with the cow coming off heat but quite often see it here and presume it's just a scratch on the cervix, make a note of all the ones you see blood on and then check it against your list when you scan them.

Why not you just spent thousands on them and your not sure wether it was worth it.

Took me less than 48 hours to place 100% trust in cowanager.
I know, thousands has been spent. However going to take me a while to get into the way of it. Took a picture of this cow and screenshotted the app at the same time. Blood has came on her when the app is telling me she’s good for sexed. Am I being silly to be confused ?

Don't usually get the blood until 48-72 hours after standing heat here. She's well past it.

Has she had her 3 week fresh check with vet? If its cow 575 at 45 dim in her second lactation and saying 0 breeding hrs at an index of 72 get vet to check either way again
I don’t routinely check cows after calving only ones that I know hung onto their cleaning. It’s not synced up with uniform so the dim is vague. I’m a tight first milk farmer, wasn’t paying 5k a year for SenseHub to be synced to uniform

I’ve nothing like uniform, just input data into sensehub calvings dry off etc. Here we do fortnightly fert vet checks and I’d say there invaluable. The colour of that blood I’d say she’ll need vet intervention or time.

Looks like he missed her heat and she’s thrown it out
Give her three weeks and she’ll be bulling again
Don’t know why she needs a vet
