I got told they can rip out but probably a low percentage
Had 140 tags in for 10 months here and I’ve lost one, shes the sort of cow that rips tags out for fun though and I should of known better. She’s due in August, held to first service before she pulled it out. I’m not sure if I’m going to have to risk another one to get her in next time or just paint her up. The system is brilliant, saves so much time and has driven both submission rates and non return rates to levels I did not think were possible.

None at all! Probably because it was never installed!
Boumatic aren’t amazing in the Uk. We have a Boumatic parlour and the back up isn’t amazing. 1 man to cover the whole of the region so can’t imagine what any other division is like if they don’t have decent back up for their main product

I always thought there stuff was top notch, my experience proved that was incorrect.

afimilk - unsure on these I know our local Fullwood man is selling them and their capabilities certainly seem impressive.
Afimilk should be really good. They bought silent herdsman and have had enough time since to develop a system using that tech. Having used SH I regard it as nailed on for heat detection. The only trouble will be is if they price themselves out of the market.

Real cool

We installed nedap collars on a 140 cow herd two years ago not a peep of trouble out of them

Count your blessings it wasn't installed. Ours was, albeit with only 100 collars out of a 240 collar order which meant we had to do the autumn block serving using two systems. The software is garbage and we had have had 15% collar failures in the first 6 months.
Isn’t the boumatic system just nedap sold under a different name?

We are just importing milkline equipment but it’s based on scr really but coming through Italy
We have gone down that route firstly because of the sheep milking

No, it’s a copy, or WAS a copy
Yes I thought it was

Boumatic make them, as far as I'm aware anyway. It is very similar in appearance to the Nedap ones
Apparently very high tag failure rate, didn’t deliver enough here for all the cows as we were going to ID for the parlour off the installed tag. Just sat in the boxes for months, then one day they were taken away.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
