Manitou 627 - Bottom Door Hinge issues

Hi, the pin on the top hinge of the bottom door has snapped.

I have removed the grease points and little clips on base of pins. But can’t get the door to lift off the bottom pin. It will come up about 1cm but no more.

Is just more brute force required? Have tried levering between top hinge, and hitting with hammer to jolt it up but it’s not shifting. I can’t see anything else holding it, but don’t want to break more things if I’m missing sometching.

if it is just more force required I’ll get a bigger hammer.

Once off I presume it’s just tap or drill out pin, bugger it up, and order whole new hinge.

cheers Dave

order new hinge both sides, it will have broken cause its worn. you can buy the pins only but they tend to drop out as all that holds them in is a spline on the pin that cuts its way in to the hinge as you press it in.

Are these the two parts.

Descriptions aren’t the best.

your better off using the serial number to get part numbers, the one with the pin in is correct but not so sure about the other one. there are several part numbers for hinges all look similar. You will also want a brass thrust washer on each pin.

I keep hinges and washers on the shelf.

Does that include hinges and pins for a 1996 MLT 628 as our door pins are knackered as well.

yes there all the same design from 1990 up to 2016 bar one or 2 exceptions. unsure if some have different dimentions though as quite a few part numbers and some are still current and dont sub up to a newer number, Hense need a serial number of machine to be sure. I keep hinges and door handles/catches and latches, screw fixings etc for most common models.

Parts all arrived, including the important brass thrust washer (a lot thicker than the outgoing one showing it has a job to do, and smoother).

And a nice new right hand mirror as well. All fitted and handler back in use (not that we use it lots).
thanks for the help.
