what could cause the failure of the water pump on the Manitou 630-105 (2019)? Deutz engine 5000h, we used JD cool gard 2

maybe its just knackered 5k hours is not unreasonable use for a mechanical failure of any kind tbh.

If pump was run dry of water even for a matter of seconds it will knacker the seals anyway so a hose failure for example could be enough to trigger that.

If your in the uk i can sort a pump for you. And as for cool guard its nothing special just marketing, plenty other good and better coolents out there i'm sure.

What coolant do you recomend and what ratio with water or only coolant?

This is what manitou recommend. (note i think its been supplied/used in 2 different colours in the past Yellow and red/orange)

If JD coolant is an organic base then that will be fine. If it isnt then it could still be used but you would need to flush the entire system as organic and standard antifreeze is not compatible and will cause problems when mixed.

Myself currently i have some Red OAT spec in consentrate which i then mix with distilled water rater that tap water, but again you cant mix OAT with standard ethylene glycole so if in doubt have to flush system.
