This must go on all the while.a builder customer of mine has an Isuzu 3.5 ton tipper truck coming up to 2 years old.last April it went to main dealer in Norwich overnight to be serviced.got it back next morning and paid the presented bill and got it back to his yard.his brother who was a truck fitter for 30 years looked round it and nothing had been done.took vehicle back and dealer refunded money and said he woukd do a free service this April.id have gone to trading standards.this must have been going on for ages and my friend was obviously not the first to have this happen and I’m sure most people never check after services.i personally mark everything.fitters are probably keeping parts and oils etc to sell on.it must go on in all industries

It's happening on cars as well, as a lot of Joe - public haven't a clue how to open a car bonnet never mind checking if there car has been serviced, I've caught three main dealers out for people, Ford, Honda, land rover. All charging for work never done, but book stamped and a big bill , worst was the main Ford dealer in Aberystwyth, charging for work not done, and the scam that is everywhere is brake fluid change, not done but charged, I call it fraud/ theft. But at least the cars are clean. Most expensive car valet you'll ever pay for.

They will probably consider they got away quite lightly. Smaller companies or owner operators convicted with similar offences would probably be faced with loosing their operators licenses. The size of the company and the fact it employs so many was probably their saving grace.

Bar the fine, its business as usual today

Who is Mansell Davies? Never heard of him.
Was the second largest haulier in the UK after stobarts. I don't know the exact number of trucks but hundreds rather than tens. Their own garage does the work for bocm wagons and many others. Doubt very much any of them would be dangerous but "rules is rules"

That is a disgrace. I would be sending them to trading standards for that.

They also sell Volvo and Isuzu trucks, tachometer center and commercial vehicle garage.

of they are anything like Volvo truck maim agent at Carlisle, they will be fecking useless,
Carlisle volvo cannot get brakes and steering right, and as far as i know the two most important things on a wagon is brakes and steering,
all the gear and no idea,

Obviously you don't have a commute up and down the A487 and 470! Went 6 miles along the 487 this am and sure enough passed one.
We have a game here if we’re re sat in the kitchen on the weekend, look out down towards the main road and call out ‘and another one....’. Quite often see the Gold one up and down this route to Glambia
