Many driver insurance?

Our farm truck, a Toyota hilux, insurance is up for renewal.

There are 6 of us on the farm that drive it, if contractors working here they get it home if not finished to save them running about on road with tractor.

Currently insured with nfu. Any recommendations of alternatives?

Also anyone with a fc motor policy in their name is usually insured to drive a vehicle belonging to another person, "not same household" is the caveat, I think.

We use the broker Denis O. Brown from Stirling. Saved a lot over NFU.

All the fleet commercials are any driver but we have it at over 25 years old.

My Shogun is open driver, full licence over 25, policy is with AIWA through a broker on the same policy as the tractors and Quad.

Just check before you rely on this - some policies don’t give cover on other vehicles (insurance companies have been trimming cover to get prices down), and it is generally 3rd party only.

As said, any driver over 25 , doesn’t seem to make a lot of difference to price

It is always 3rd party only, and the vehicle being driven has to be insured as well, you cannot drive an unisured vehicle, and as you say, it's being trimed off a lot of policies now on private insurance,
A motor traders policy is a different ball game

As others have said be careful about relying on the driving of other cars extension. Some Insurers give it, some dont. It also sometimes is only for cars and therefore wont cover pick up trucks. As previously stated it is always third party only cover. Always check before relying on this to provide you with insurance cover.

Yes they have removed my entitlement to drive other vehicle's not owned by me from my policy even though i have fully comprehensive .At least they did tell me when i renewed on the phone as its hard to spot on the paper document.
Worth checking out before plod looks into it for you .

Give these lot a ring, tell them what you want and get a quote, we have had our motor insurance with them for three years. Tractors, cars, pick-up, quad bike etc........
