Marsden Moor on fire again

would I be right in thinking, management of moors for grouse shooting (with associated sheep grazing) would be best for both keeping fuel load low as well as allowing peat to continue to accumulate?
That’s what they reckon, and stopping or trying to stop the controlled burning will mean more of these large fires as it’s all woody tinder, make you wonder what affect it’ll have on the surrounding grouse shoots

@Wood field , is this heading your direction do you know. It appears to be on the hill top and coming down this side, wondered if it going down the other side as well.
I am picking up idiot bricks In the heat 🤦‍♀️
Can see across to stood pike from my hay shed , can’t see fire but there’s a faint smell of smoke in the air ( hope it’s not my shed full of hay )
Looking from our top field, I can see from beyond Mythomroid right along the hill top to beyond Littleborough, its hazy but no fire or smoke

Isn’t it wrong though?, even fire brigade say that controlled burning works, better for bio diversity, but because it’s primarily for grouse shooting it’s a bad thing, them who shout loudest get heard

And they think they are doing their cause a service by calling us all deniers who disagree with their religion 🙄
