Hello everyone I have a question about my 6180. This morning I went out to do some work with it so when I turned on ignition all light were in dash as usual so I started the engine. Then I realise that the tractor is stuck in low box and there are no lights on the dash , no red green high low or no A B C D dyna lights. The tractor is driving forward and back in low box. I checked the red and yellow feeds under the step at ecu and I have power at both and I checked the switch under the high low gear stick and it has power. I’m wondering would I have an ECU problem? Thanks

There's a solonoid on the side of the gearbox, one of a few that that activates the hydraulic ram in the gearbox that does the high low change. Is power getting to that. If not ,Try a live fused feed, to the solenoid with the engine running to see if you can get it into high.

Everything seems to be working apart from the high low, the dyna shift 4wd and diff lock
Hydraulics all seem to be fine.
John if I try your idea will that give me lights back up in the dash in your opinion?

There is a small wire connected to the positive battery terminal along with a fuse (or two) under the bonnet above the batteries. These supply the autotronic box so check wire and fuse are ok.

Pto is working and I checked the switch on the clutch and all seems ok. And I checked both fuses under the bonnet and proved the voltage under the step. I have a head scratcher to say the least. The bit that is throwing me off is . Why are the lights not coming on in the dash for any of the above.

where are u from. could the switch for selecting the low box have got hit.

mine did this once or twice but think selecting low box a few times sorted it, remember putting a switch in it too and having to short it until i got round to it. there is also something in the gearbox that the stick has to actuate.

Northern Ireland the tractor does very little to be honest not really a chance of switch getting hit I removed the wires of the switch under the lever in the gear box and crossed them out and still no joy. Hopefully I might be able to get a spare ECU of my local dealer to try that

joe hardy in coagh is about the best of them with Massey, it was further away for us to go but well worth it for any repairs he couldnt talk me through but then we got all 6180 parts of him.

Check the yellow feed wire to the autotronic box under the step the wire splits into 2 up the harness a bit from where you've checked at the plug it normally corrodes at this join you will need to cut the covering off the harness to find it
