Massey Fergerson 6290 lift arm failure

Hi I hope someone can give me some advice. My massey ferguson 6290 lift arms have stopped working. The rocker switch has been temperamental for a wee while and currently trying to get one. But there is absolutely no power coming to the rocker switch the two buttons in the back of the cab and the buttons on either mudguard. We have checked fuse in fuse box the two fuses above the battery. Red and yellow wires coming from the battery are OK. There is power coming to the sensor at the back of the cabinet the outside The interior of the cab is virtually pulled apart and I cannot seem to find anything to explain the power failure to the switches after a week of searching. Would be grateful for any advice. Thank you

Code 17 is...according to a website(found through Google) containing MF error codes...
Hitch Position Command potentiometer failed in the Armrest controller.
Doesn't specify any particular series of MF though. Can't see that preventing power going through the rest of the system though, unless the Autotronic has shut down.

Just came across another site that suggests code 1-7 is... Short in the 9.5v line.
That's for the 6100 series and is more likely applicable to your 62 as well. Can't help with where the 9.5v.line us though...
It was @towbar that posted about that code on another forum, way back in 2013!!

From memory. On 62s. Left side, under cab ,on side of gear box casing, two buttons, one is up other down, if they work hydraulics, then your problems are electrical.

Had the same problem a few days ago on my 6290, turned out to be battery terminals. There are 2 smaller cables on the terminals of of the rear battery, the terminals on the rear battery 'clamp' on to the main cable from the outer battery and were failing to make proper contact coupled with the fact that the inner battery when checked was only giving out 10.5v. Used contact cleaner around the clamped inner battery clamps, gave the clamps a tapping between lump hammer and small hammer to help contact, cleaned battery posts. Think the smaller cables supply the operating system ?
Done several days linkage work since with no more probs
