that pump is the same as one fitted to a 135. it should have two pipes one pressure which goes to your control valve and one return which comes back from your control valve. the reservoir for that pump is built in. the separate reservoir shown in the drawing has a feed to the pump, a relief valve return from the pump and a return from the valve.

That is how it is set up at the minute. The main reservoir is no longer in the system at all, so will try and make that work. hopefully there is no great difference in the steering box that will affect it.

Never worked with the steering column type valve but if you take the pin out of the end furthest away from the spool if you then try moving the spool with screwdriver or like it should make steering move it did on the 165/185 type up in the nose of the tractor. If no movement either the PRV is set too low or your pump is goosed

That relief valve looks loose, well the plug?
Can you get oil flow out of the pump on the starter?
If so and you know the relief valve is not stuck closed, pop a gauge on the outlet from the pump.
Best Tee an ON/OFF tap before the gauge with the outlet from the pump going back to the reservoir. Close the tap gradually to see can you get the pressure to build on the gauge?

But maybe you have that already covered ............

Mursal, good points, but I just do not have a gauge to play about with at the moment. Will no doubt be building up a selection of useful tools and accessories as I get further down the line of ownership. (only had it a week and is first tractor!)

Have checked the pump, the filter and spring is missing, not sure what else, so to be on the safe side I have ordered a new pump, with integral pressure relief valve. Will be with me by Thursday (they promise) so watch this space.
Greasing and other maintenance in the mean time.

I did a search on agco parts for your tractor an it came up with an MF 1100 looking back to your diff troubles it looks similar back end, I dunno though about the steering system, you shoud get a login for the agco parts book form your dealer it makes good reference to see how it goes together

OK, update, new pump arrived yesterday, but fittings for hose couplings different, the location also wrong for exosting hoses and pipes, so have bitten the bullet and ordered new pipes and hoses, not as extravigant as first looks, as the existing set up was a bit of a bodge and past its best!
Watch this space.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.
