Grass not quite ready but nearly it would be a shame to miss this dry weather tempted to cut for hay this week

My neighbour tried may hay last year. Took him 2 weeks to wilt it and even then it was touch and go with the moisture probe.
This is making hay without cutting it

Leaf drys quicker that thick stem
I agree it does to start with, but leafy grass takes a lot of drying to get that last bit of moisture out of it.

We have 10ac that is too strong for grazing and I'm tempted to try it for hay in small bales for the sheep, but I've tried very early stuff before and it takes a long time to dry.
But if it had long enough it would probably be be worth a shot.
