Have looked and assume there will be threats on this already but not coming up

What is folks thoughts on these for calves???

Pricey around £120 but if save one calve it has paid for itself

One man calving band here so can be difficult to hang calves up to clear lungs etc ( and it's advised not to do that now a days 🤣🤣[emoji28])

It was pointed out to me on here before that hanging up a calf to clear fluid isn’t best practice.

If however you want to hang a calf up I put calving ropes on hind legs and use calving machine to lift.

We had one at home when they first came out (& a lamb one). I think they were used about 3 times before they were relegated to the ‘what did we buy that for’ pile in the back of the shed.

+1 : I bought one of these after reading this thread a few weeks ago hoping never to need it, well yesterday we had a terrible calving, calf's tongue had swollen extremely large and despite our efforts the calf couldn't get the glug by its own tongue, i kid you not a couple of pulls and it was like a plug out of a sink. Very impressed with the suction it creates !.

Have used one before and saved a couple

Easiest way to hang a calf when your on your own is to buy a vink calving jack and put the calving ropes on the back feet!
