What year is yours? Wondering if the camless has been changed since it was introduced and if those with issues are earlier models than yours.

If you're in that sort of stuff and it's pulling from under the tractor, so driving slower doesn't make any difference, drop the knives just before the bale finishes and you won't have any trouble. If you are on a 25'+ row of heavy, lumpy grass & just as you are finishing the bale putting the net on the baler pulls a big lump in, it's a hard startup to put the lump on through & turn a full chamber as well.
Sometimes have to open the door slightly to make life easier on the tractor & baler, have even had to dump the bale out a few times to get going if it's bad enough.
The new ones do that I'm told.If you're in that sort of stuff and it's pulling from under the tractor, so driving slower doesn't make any difference, drop the knives just before the bale finishes and you won't have any trouble.
Fusion 3s on New Holland 6080 and 7030. They have auto throttle which I set for 560 pto rpm and only struggle for power when baling 10fts on steep hills. Thankfully most of what I bale is in 25 or 30fts.What baler you running? I could,t bale in 540e with mchale fixed chamber, not enough refs on, you would have no power on the hills.
I must be lucky then, most of mine gets spread by a tedder and rowed up by a twin rake krone, no lumps, the only time there is lumps is when a crazy farmer teds the grass with a haybob. , what a f ing mess it is then.If you are on a 25'+ row of heavy, lumpy grass & just as you are finishing the bale putting the net on the baler pulls a big lump in, it's a hard startup to put the lump on through & turn a full chamber as well.

Thank you. Now I'm wondering if they've modified something and made them worse. Will have to find out what years the ones giving bother are.2018
What fuel are you using in 540e, i think i average between 8 and 12 litres per hour depending on the hills, thats in 1st cut. I would be in 540 but run the baler at 500.Fusion 3s on New Holland 6080 and 7030. They have auto throttle which I set for 560 pto rpm and only struggle for power when baling 10fts on steep hills. So I hear. They could do with doing a lot more at the price of them. The new ones do that I'm told.
I've no way of accurately working it out but the 7030 has a 440 litre tank and will do around 800 bales to the tank. Driving between jobs ruins the figures a bit because even though it's 40k eco it burns more on the road than it does when it's baling. What fuel are you using in 540e, i think i average between 8 and 12 litres per hour depending on the hills, thats in 1st cut. Always run our fusion at 600rpm on standard 540 tractor mode and fuel usage will be down to 0.5 litre per bale for busy days, good crops when road work is minimal. On less productive days with lots of small jobs to 6 or more customers it could be 0.75 litre per bale or higher. Dealer always said to run the machine more than 540rpm.

fendt 516, it was only on hills it lacked, in normal 540 it was on top of the job and fuel consumption was good anyway. What tractor would that be?
We pulled an F3 for a while with a 4pot 160hp Deutz and it handled it perfectly fine with pto set to 540e.
No 540e?

I'd a vicon 20 years ago, you could disengage the pickup drive. So in a scenario like you mention could wrap bale and kick it out. Then clear pick up. Don't know if kuhn still have this feature. If you are on a 25'+ row of heavy, lumpy grass & just as you are finishing the bale putting the net on the baler pulls a big lump in, it's a hard startup to put the lump on through & turn a full chamber as well.

Like you say sometimes just have to open back door with McHale to clear blockage when bale almost made.
