Meijer limo hydra bale sledge

I'm looking for a high capacity bale sledge and I've seen these as an alternative to the cooks belted one's. Has anyone had any experience with these Meijer roller type sledges? They look more compact. I was wondering are there any pitfalls with this model. I'd be baling straw only

I've seen this video of one at work which isn't very inspiring, maybe the welger bales are too wide for it and it would work better with the standard bale size

Looks like they should of spent some time setting it up ,opening it up a bit , and maybe a bit smaller row , or go slower ,bales not paticular tidy ,for a welgar , not enough wodges , you know how they can punch it through ,
2 wd fendt looks smart though
Is cooks not quick enough , we used to use an old windrower one
Have a look at steffen systems ,950 will leave in 10:s so you can load straight on ,8 and two across

I've got a bigger combine with a bigger header so I'll have bigger swaths, I have a cooks windrower one and it could just about keep up with the 15ft header swaths so I doubt it'll not cope with 20ft swaths of straw. I'd like to stick with the flat 8 system as that's what I'm set up for. I think that one in the video maybe needed set up right but I wouldn't like that kind of hassle on a harvest day

As a sales video from Meijer, thats a disaster - looks like a prototype in testing to me. Nice idea but needs a fair bit of development

Why not look at a kuhns 1. No movin floor and they do a 10

don't know about their belted ones, but know someone who has run an Armstrong one with the rollers behind a welger for years with very few problems apart from an electronic brain issue after storage one winter

You can find good working ones on the youtubes. I heard they can take some headscratching to set up.

i use a ritchie belted one behind my welgar in 40ft swaths of of straw it copes well just takes abit oftime to get the belt running just right but once itcan fairly fly on

I'll probably end up going with a Richie/Cooks belted sledge but I liked the idea of a compact bale sledge that you could reverse with if need be and that would have good clearance of lumps of straw but most importantly I'd want something that works
