MF 390 oil cooler?

I am in the process of replacing the water pump on my tractor and see that the oil cooler (?) between the radiator and fuel tank is leaking oil and one pipe is twisted/restricted (not by me!:)). It's the elongated hedgehog type. So, I have been looking for a replacement. Nothing! I assume it has now been superseded by a new design? Does anyone know the story? Photo of a similar cooler off the internet, but offered s/h. If there is a new replacement, I'd obviously prefer to get that. But what?

Unless you are actually working it hard enough and long enough to heat the oil ridiculously, just replace it with a loop of hose. If you can find the matching connectors.

Otherwise buy any high pressure oil cooler matrix, plumb it in and locate it in the air flow, which is harder than it should be due to the front mounted fuel tank on this range.

I brazed the ends from a 390 oil cooler like you have on a new piece of 22mm Stainless instrument tube bent to suit for a customer, must have been a success as he hasn't been back & his tractor was in a field the other day

Looks like I am going to have to do similar. I have only found the picture of one (already sold) on a search of the internet.:(

From memory it's 3/4 jic, but it's a year or so ago. When mine punctured ,the oil spray drowned a virtually new alternator.

Things are beginning to make more sense to me now. Someone above suggested a piece of blue pipe, possibly in jest! I am also finding some after market coolers which they say are suitable for a 390 but I am waiting to hear back. I do like to get things right as I've also heard reports of the tractors over heating with dire consequences when the cooler failed
When the cooler actually fails it spews all the oil out of the gearbox and if it continues to be driven, the gearbox cooks due to a lack of lubrication. Bi-passing the cooler is fine unless worked hard or driven many miles on roadwork, because it takes a lot of wasted energy to heat the oil to a critical point and its not as if the original cooler is particularly efficient by the obvious looks of it.

I’ve just experienced my first trip back in time, evidenced by the fact that my post above, is an answer to the one below it but the answer was posted a couple of hours before the question. Next trip, I’ll try going back to before I was born. If you don’t hear from me again, my atoms will probably be scattered throughout the Universe or even in another Universe. Wish me luck.
