Thanks for ya help . A cpl of weeks ago it was minus 9 where we are and im sure the fuel lines froze ,if the diesel went waxy even though temp is warmer now would that block filters too ?
the square root of f**k allso what is a MF 590 max legal towing weight ?
I don't know, that was the point of the questionI doooo know, what is the MF 590 max legal towing weight?
Love a comedian .........
About 21 tons I would thinkso what is a MF 590 max legal towing weight ?
Thats not as daft as it sounds ,,we used to move spud bulkers round the yard with one ,very interesting comming out the shed with that lot pushing it ,took some stopping .About 21 tons I would think
Funny how it now takes about 240 HP for a 16 ton trailer, and that's with trailer brakes, them twin beacons must take more power than people realiseI don't know either......but in those days 5/6 T trailers were the norm. 8 T would be a BIG trailer, and plenty for a 75 hp tractor with no trailer brakes........
plus 1.Had one for yrs, prodded a hole in tank filter in the end, metal fuel tanks getting a bit rusty on inside.Sounds like a fuel supply issue. Change the filter, clean the gauze on the lift pump (if so equipped) and make sure there's a free flow of fuel from the tank. There may be a small pencil type filter in the tank that could be the culprit- the sediment/ crap builds up around this and ends up stopping the fuel supply.
no mine was a y reg 2 wd on 14x34 tyres,it would easily outgrip our 2 wd mf 290 which admittedly was on 12x38 tyres, those lucas girling oil cooled brakes were greatThat 690, a 4WD?
not to bad we had extended the weight frame to house a toolbox and to counter balance a 4 furrow dp 8 plough,it had an assistor ramBut had to be giddy on the steering .............
