Mf6480, looking in the transmission.

I've just dropped the oil out of the back end of the 6480, and some silvery sludge came out last. Is there a plate you can take off to inspect the brakes and transmission or do you have to take the bell housing off.
Thanks for any advice.

Pull the suction filter off on the left hand side and see whats in there

if its clean I would say you brakes are OK as thats normal full of bits if the brakes are on there way out if you still have some oil you took out you could send it away & get a oil report done on it then you will have better idea, is the gearbox & Clutch calabrating OK ?
Everything seems fine but have spoke to a main dealer who says the hard facing on the diff can sometimes flake on tractors of that year and the diff is a bit noisy on the road, so I'd better investigate .

D6 40k & 50k isnt identical 4th gear ratio is taller in the 50k version thats why they will clock 56k flatout
40k D6 has limiter on 4F around 1900revs which its only doing 44k but even if you could rev it full throttle it would never get too 56k
old 32speed Dynashift flatout in 4D is only around 40k 3000,6100,6200 & early 6480s & bigger series likewise.
